Nitrolux–S is a semiconductor laser-based, low power ammonia sensor for remote unattended agricultural applications. This lightweight unit (< 30 lbs) is contained in a NEMA 4 weather proof case and provides ammonia detection of better than 40 ppb, approaching 10 ppb. Powered by a solar panel and internal batteries, this unit can be left in a remote location to continuously monitor the environment and can communicate via an optional cellular or internet connection. To document its findings, an optional GPS receiver is installed to record the physical location and time/date stamp each datum.
